Christie Ward, CSP
The Impact Institute
“Christie developed and delivered a number of classes addressing effective communication skills, conflict management, individual style dimensions, expectations, team dimensions, resiliency, and change management. Christie came into the environment during re-engineering, downsizing, and change management. Some of the changes the organization has seen as a result of Christie’s training are 66% fewer union/labor grievances, 50% reduction in work group conflicts, and an overall increase in effective communication, individual accountability and improved morale.”Suzanne Becker, District Manager AT&T
Christie knows firsthand what motivates people to change their ways — and she knows how to restart lost momentum and help anyone muster the courage to overcome even the most daunting obstacles. She works with individuals and teams who want to learn skills that not only impact their lives, but help them influence everyone with whom they come into contact.
Christie employs accelerated learning techniques and designs curriculum that speaks to today’s adult learner. Her programs are uplifting, and always teach you something!
For seven years, she coached and managed 200 of the best professional trainers around the world for CareerTrack , Inc. She has been incredibly successful not only professionally, but personally, changing direction in her mid-40’s to lead a multi-million dollar sales team, shepherding her daughter though a bone-marrow transplant while working full time, and maintaining a 90 pound weight loss since 1985.
Christie is past president for the Association for Talent Development (ATD)-Rocky Mountain Chapter, and is the past president for the National Speakers Association of Colorado (NSA). She is the only person to have received “Member of the Year” three times for NSA (in 2008, 2009 and 2011) for creating the Colorado Speaker’s Academy for emerging speakers. In 2000, one of the speakers she coached became the world champion of public speaking. She hit another career milestone in 2009, earning the CSP (Certified Speaking Professional) designation, an honor bestowed upon less than 10% of professional speakers in the International Speakers Federation.
Christie is a regular volunteer speaker for Colorado Homeless Families and volunteers with Goodwill to help aspiring inner-city high school students learn to present themselves well to scholarship screening boards. She helps coordinate a speech contest for the disadvantaged youth at the Tennyson Center for Children in Denver, sharing her talents and the talents of fellow speakers with kids who have trouble sharing their voice. She travels to Asia with TogetherWeCanChangetheWorld to serve underserved women and children in 3rd world countries.
She served on the National Advisors to Chapters for ATD where she mentored volunteer leaders in several states and the National Board of directors for ATD from 2011-2012. She currently facilitates the Master Trainer program for ATD to help seasoned trainers take their craft from good to great.
She is a leader who believes you can make a living with your talent, but it is the most valuable when you share it with those who can’t pay you!
